Leonard T. Jernigan, Jr. has written North Carolina Workers’ Compensation Law and Practice, the leading text on workers’ compensation law in North Carolina. First published in 1988 this text is now in its fourth edition and is widely used by anyone practicing in this field. He has represented injured workers for over thirty years, is an adjunct professor of Workers’ Compensation Law at North Carolina Central University School of Law, and is listed in the current edition of Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers. He is the past president of a national group of workers’ compensation lawyers (WILG) and currently serves on the Industrial Commission’s Advisory Council. He is also one of only 42 workers' compensation attorneys in the United States authorized by the National Football League Players Association to represent its members.

N. Victor Farah has worked tirelessly to represent the interests of working people who have been injured. He has served as chairman of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, and is listed in the current edition of Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers. He has helped review and draft legislation concerning the Workers’ Compensation Act and has been involved in drafting Rehabilitation Rules adopted by the Industrial Commission. He has spoken extensively at various continuing legal education programs across the state, teaching fellow lawyers about workers’ compensation law.
