The attorneys listed below are board-certified workers’ compensation specialists. They represent injured workers (teachers, firefighters, professional athletes, construction workers, plant employees, nurses, law enforcement officers, truck drivers, executives, etc) all over the state. The firm represents clients in hearings at the North Carolina Industrial Commission before Deputy Commissioners and the Full Commission and handles appeals to the Court of Appeals and the North Carolina Supreme Court. The firm also handles civil matters involving jury trials.
We are highly selective in accepting cases to make sure each person gets the attention and focus his or her case deserves. If you, a family member, friend or co-worker needs assistance, please feel free to contact us. There is no consultation fee for the initial interview. If we don't handle your case, we will try to point you in the right direction and refer you to other lawyers who may be able to help you and then you can make that choice.
Leonard T. Jernigan, Jr. has written North Carolina Workers’ Compensation Law and Practice, the leading text on workers’ compensation law in North Carolina. First published in 1988 this text is now in its fourth edition and is widely used by anyone practicing in this field. He has represented injured workers for over thirty years, is an adjunct professor of Workers’ Compensation Law at North Carolina Central University School of Law, and is listed in the current edition of Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers. He is the past president of a national group of workers’ compensation lawyers (WILG) and currently serves on the Industrial Commission’s Advisory Council. He is also one of only 42 workers' compensation attorneys in the United States authorized by the National Football League Players Association to represent its members.
N. Victor Farah has worked tirelessly to represent the interests of working people who have been injured. He has served as chairman of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, and is listed in the current edition of Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers. He has helped review and draft legislation concerning the Workers’ Compensation Act and has been involved in drafting Rehabilitation Rules adopted by the Industrial Commission. He has spoken extensively at various continuing legal education programs across the state, teaching fellow lawyers about workers’ compensation law. He has also been involved in political campaigns involving the N.C. Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals.
Gina Cammarano, a former Special Deputy Commissioner with the North Carolina Industrial Commission, has shown time and again that she is one of the brightest and hardest working lawyers in the state representing injured workers in this complex field. She is on the Executive Committee of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Academy of Trial Lawyers and also serves on the Workers’ Compensation Committee of the North Carolina Bar Association. She is the Editor of Course and Scope, a publication that goes out to all lawyers who are members of the workers’ compensation section of the N.C. Bar Association. She is a frequent lecturer at continuing legal education seminars, and also represents players in the National Football League. |
